Spoiler alert! Fuel, a new brand with Paramount Beauty, is really into educating stylists...like really. Yes, they love to give you all the juicy details on what it takes to be a great asset to your salon. What's not to love?

Here’s some of the advice that the Fuel team shares on their Facebook page every Tuesday. Join in on the conversation by liking Fuel Hair on Facebook and sharing your own #TipTuesday.

--This #TipTuesday comes from Carol-Anne Langlois from our education team: "Even if you feel stressed inside, NEVER let it show to your guests."

--This week's #TipTuesday is another from our fab educator, Steven Ernewein, who says: “When dealing with cowlicks at the nape while cutting a short bob, undercut the nape by an inch to remove the cowlicks. You will end up with a stronger shape and easier styling.”

--Ashley Deubel’s tip could not encapsulate the Fuel philosophy better: practice, practice, practice! Get mannequins or models and step outside of your comfort zone. You never know what you're capable of until you try. Trial and error is tried and true when learning something new!

--Here’s a #‎TipTuesday‬ courtesy of our fab educator, Kelsey Higginbotham: Complimentary bang trims go a long way! Try holding the bang 90 degrees from the forehead and trim the ends with your texturizing shears. This allows weight and length to be removed at once!

--Big is beautiful when it comes to your blow-outs, so be sure to use a round brush with your elbows held high. Fuel Educator Raquel Deanda-Wyatt reminds that if the elbows stay low, the look will be sleek in this week's ‪#‎TipTuesday‬‬‬.

--Ensure that your thumb pad, not the bone, is resting on the scissor handle for better control and mobility.

--Give every first-time guest a salon tour that tells them all about your team. If you’ve only got a very small salon or studio, talk guests through your service menu and explain your point of difference.

--Shy guests need extra TLC in their consultation. Spend a little more time and ensure it’s done face-to-face (not through a mirror as shown). How do you vary your consultation for different types of guests?

--Do you gown clients up before their consultation? Stop it right now! How will you ever get a full picture of who they are or their sense of style?

--Be on the best possible terms with your reservationist! They can chase down your no-shows, follow up with guests who don't re-book, up-sell add-on services and remind guests about the perfect take-home product for their hair.

--The greatest gift you can give your guests is the ability to style their hair to look (almost!) as good as when they do it themselves. If you need product to make it look that good, so will they. Be sure to tell them exactly what you use and why you use it. You are educating them, not giving them a sales pitch.

--You don't know what you don't know. Whether you're a salon owner or a stylist, never stop learning and network with other local salons.
