Be the "It Girl" of the Summer with These Looks

05.06.2015

By Erin Gignac

You're sitting down to lunch with a friend when all of the sudden a gorgeous woman walks in the door with the most epic hair you've ever seen. It's soft, it's wavy, and it has those little wispy flyaways that look totally intentional. She's confident and loving it. You drop your fork and your jaw, inspired to make tomorrow an awesome hair day. You do you, girl.

To pull off these looks, you need to adhere to your own, unique, exquisite hair taste. Rock something crazy or something totally normal (which might be crazy for you). Either way, make sure you feel comfortable and confident, because that's going to make the best look. If your coif makes you feel like Beyonce on a yacht in Southeast Asia, then you're doing something right.

Festival Fun

Flower crowns are out. Instead, channel your inner flower child. Tuck your hair into a headband, color your hair in the hottest pastels- pink, purple, blue, gray- or try a temporary dreadlock style with messy twists.

Brunch Munch

Nothing says hipster more than brunch- and nothing says brunch better than a messy bun! If you're more into looking like Mulan, "let's get down to business" and try a cool girl half-up bun.

At The Poolside

Braids can also serve as a styling tool while your hair is drying off- they're a great way to get beachy waves. If you don't plan on taking a dip, but want to show off your new high-waisted bikini (because why not), try a braided crown for some cutting-edge style that screams "fashionista."

Dancing the Night Out

Iggy Azalea has been rocking the sleek ponytail like a boss. It's very versatile. Try this look for a run, a long workday or a night out. You're so fancy.

Just Beachin' It

Casual get-togethers call for casual hair, but who are we kidding? You're smarter than that. The beach is your runway, and you're Kendall Jenner. Wear a statement hat for equal parts sexy and safety.

Fireworks Time

Rock a Woodstock vibe to celebrate the good ole U.S. of A. Tie an American flag bandana around your head or opt for big shades and a long-banged straight style, inspired by Jenny Lewis at Coachella 2015.
