Tell me a little about yourself:

I am a proud mother of 3 kids. I was the owner and operator of a certified organic poultry farm and I’m still a licensed insurance broker. When I’m not behind the chair I enjoy hiking, traveling and music festivals.

What made you open a salon?

Doing hair has always been a passion of mine since age 14. I've tried a few other things but was always drawn back into the hair industry. In 2021, the birth of my suite came about when a friend decided to close her salon I was working at and another industry friend wanted to open the first beauty suites in our county. With the support of my family and friends I decided to take a leap of faith. It's been the best decision I could ever make.

What made you pursue the beauty industry and what is your favorite part?

When I was in high school I signed up for cosmetology. When I became pregnant at 15, I was determined to have a good life for my family. Pursuing my passion has allowed me to have a good work-life balance that works for my family and business. My favorite part about my career is the ability to learn new skills while meeting new people.

What inspires you?

I draw inspiration from other members in our industry. With social media and the internet, discovering new products, innovative techniques and talented hair artists is easier than ever. Staying open to new concepts keeps me inspired.

What would you tell your younger self?

Your vibe will attract your tribe. There is no need to discount yourself and always add tax. The right people will find you.

What have been your "keys to success?"

The key to success is to stay open to new ideas. If there's an opportunity to learn something new, take it! Education will be the key to opening new doors.

What are your go-to favorite products?

Anything K-18, Alterna Scalp Densifying Spray, and Alterna Densifying Mousse. Great for clients with thin hair looking for volume and thickness.
